Your doctor did some blood work and various tests, only to be told that nothing is wrong, and “you’re too young to be menopausal. You just need to get some sleep, lose weight and take an anti-depressant.

Translation: “It’s all in your head, I can’t help you.”

Perimenopause—the time prior to menopause where progesterone starts to decline and frequently all hormonal hell breaks loose for a woman. This stage of life can last from 10-15 years before menopause. (WHAT?!)

Hi, I’m Paula Carper, a dietitian and health coach practicing functional nutrition. More importantly, I’m a woman who has been where you are.
